A Drive Through Kattikulam – Bavali, Wayanad

During my Wayanad trip, I decided to go to for a round trip from Sulthan Bathery. (Sulthan Bathery – Mananthavadi – Kattikulam – HD Kote –  Sargur – Hediyala – Begur – Gundlupete- Sulthan Bathery)

Entrance of Rajeev Gandhi National Park

We started at early morning from Sulthan Bathery and went to Kattikulam, from there we moved towards Bavali through Rajeev Gandhi National Park. It is also a part of Nagerhole National Park. Bavali is a small town in Kerala – Karnataka border which is situated on the banks of Kabini River.

Scenic villages enroute

The trip from Kattikulam to HD Kote gives you a wonderful experience. Common scenes are the agricultural areas of Karnataka Villages. The main crop there is cotton.

Deer spotted somewhere in the forest 🙂

If you are lucky, you can see elephants and other wild life animals. Preferred time to travel is during early morning or after 4pm. Also note that, there is a night traffic ban existing on this route.
