Omallur is a small town, about 4 km south of Pathanamthitta situated on Pathanamthitta – Adoor road. Omalloor Vayal Vanibham is the annual agriculture fair organized by the Omalloor grama panchayat. Omallur is famous for Vayal Vanibham which is an annual cattle fair held in the month of Meenam (Malayalam Year). People from both within and outside the state participate in the fair.
Next attraction in this traditional fair is agricultural market. That is a place to sell, buy and exchange each and every agricultural related items. Nowadays, the Vayal Vanibham is initiated by the government bodies. Long back it was initiated by the organization of farmers from the different region of central Travancore.
